Hip Pain

What's behind it?

Hip pain can occur at the front, in the groin, on the outside, or in the buttock. Causes range from muscular imbalances and tendon irritation to joint problems like hip impingement and arthritic changes. Since the hip bears the weight of the upper body and is involved in almost every movement, complaints can quickly restrict daily life. With a comprehensive assessment, we find the cause and create an individual treatment plan.

Causes

  • Muscular imbalances and shortened hip muscles
  • Tendon irritation from sport overload
  • Hip impingement (CAM or Pincer type)
  • Arthritic changes of the hip joint (coxarthrosis)

Symptoms

  • Pain in the groin, front of hip, or outer thigh
  • Pain with hip flexion, climbing stairs, or prolonged walking
  • Restricted hip mobility, especially internal rotation
  • Clicking sounds or feeling of blockage in the hip joint
