Tennis Elbow (Epicondylitis)

What's behind it?

Tennis elbow — medically known as lateral epicondylitis — is a painful irritation of the tendon attachments on the outside of the elbow. It is caused by repetitive strain on the forearm and affects not only tennis players but also people with one-sided occupational loads. We combine unloading, manual therapy and targeted strength building to regenerate the tendon and prevent relapses.

Causes

  • Repetitive gripping and grasping movements
  • One-sided occupational strain (mouse, keyboard, tools)
  • Poor technique in racquet sports
  • Muscular imbalances in the forearm and shoulder area

Symptoms

  • Pain on the outside of the elbow
  • Radiating pain into the forearm
  • Pain worsening when gripping or lifting
  • Morning stiffness of the elbow
Treatment

How we treat Tennis Elbow (Epicondylitis).
